Delta coronavirus strain has been detected in samples of 99% of patients worldwide. This was stated by Maria van Kerkhove, a leading specialist of the World Health Organization (WHO), on COVID-19.
Alpha, Beta, and Gamma strains account for only 1% of those infected.
"Less than one percent each of Alpha, Beta and Gamma are currently circulating. It's really predominantly Delta around the world," said Maria Van Kerkhove, the World Health Organization's technical lead on COVID-19.
According to the latest data, Delta strains are recorded in 185 states and territories of the world.
